Why you think your phone is vibrating when it is not

The article of the BBC written by Tom Strafford talks about if it’s a hallucination when we think that our mobile phone is ringing.

The eighty per cent of the people have imagined a phone vibrating I our pockets when it’s actually completely still. Firstly was thought to be madness caused by digital culture but then  the scientists who had investigate about this say that it’s a psychological problem. They call it Signal Detection Theory.  They had arrived to this conclusion because the people are obsessed in the new technologies; we need to be connected all the time. As a result of this people imagine that someone is phoning them but the phone isn’t doing anything.

With this article I had realized that we are so introduced in the new technologies that our brain is starting to think things that are happening but in the reality they are not coming about. Everything is imagined by our brain.  We have arrived in the situation that we cannot be less than an hour without looking the mobile phone. Is it really healthy for us?
